TropiCaliente 2011 raises $68,000 for the Hurley

¡Club TropiCaliente! the Neighborhood Parents for the Hurley School’s annual fundraising bash, was a smashing success on April 8, 2011. Thanks to the generosity of the many businesses and individuals in our community and beyond, we raised a record $68,000 for the school!

Three hundred and sixty-five friends and neighbors filled the room at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in the South End while Grupo Fantasia moved the dance floor...

Principal Soto one of "top 100" in Hispanic community

Our principal Marjorie Soto was named one of the 100 most influential people for the Hispanic community by El Planeta, the largest circulating Spanish-language newspaper in Massachusetts.

“Thanks to Marjorie Soto’s leadership,” said the PowerMeter 2010–11 judges, “the Joseph J. Hurley bilingual immersion school in Boston’s South End is becoming a model of integrated education for other urban schools.”
