What are the school hours?
Hours for a regular school day are 8:30 am-3:10 pm (Doors open at 8:15 am). Students are expected to be in their seats, ready to learn, and finished with breakfast by 8:30 AM. The day before Thanksgiving and the last two days of school are Early dismissal days. Early Dismissal begins at 12:40 pm.
Is there an afterschool program at the Hurley?
Yes. The Hurley’s academic enrichment program, Bodega de Arte, provides full-time and part-time afterschool programming from 2:30 –6:00 PM Monday–Friday, and clubs from 2:30–3:30 Monday–Thursday. Children must be at least 5 years old to attend. See our Bodega de Arte page for more information.
Is there a before school program at the Hurley?
At this time, there is no program for students before school. Please check with the school office for more up-to-date information: 617-635-8489.
When does the school year start and end?
The first day of school is usually the Thursday after Labor Day for students in 1st–8th grades, and the following Monday for children entering K1 and K2. The last day of school is in late June; the date often shifts due to snow days and other changes. We try to keep the Hurley calendar up to date, but parents are advised to check the Boston Public School calendar(link is external) in May to confirm the last day of the school year or call the Hurley front office at 617-635-8489.
